Caloroot
Delete your account
You can ask us to delete your Caloroot account and everything stored against it at any time. You do not need the app installed to make the request.
How to request deletion
- Email krmghazzi@gmail.com from the email address your Caloroot account is registered to.
- Use the subject line Delete my Caloroot account.
- If you have to write from a different address, include your Caloroot account email in the message so we can verify who you are.
We acknowledge every request within 5 working days and complete the deletion within 30 days. You will get a confirmation once it is done.
What gets deleted
- Your account and login credentials, including the Google sign-in link if you used one.
- Your profile: sex, age, height, weight, activity level, goal and calculated calorie and macro targets.
- Every food log entry you have ever recorded.
This is permanent. Once deleted, the data cannot be restored, so export anything you want to keep before you ask.
What is kept, and for how long
- Nothing is kept for marketing, profiling or advertising.
- A minimal record of the deletion request itself, being your email address and the date, is kept for 12 months so we can demonstrate the request was honoured. It is then erased.
Things deletion does not touch
- Meal photos. Caloroot does not keep meal photos. If you scan with your own API key the photo goes straight from your device to the provider you chose and never reaches us at all. If you scan on a Caloroot subscription the photo passes through our servers only to produce that one estimate and is not retained afterwards. Either way there is nothing stored for us to delete. To remove anything held on the AI provider’s side, use their own account tools.
- Your AI provider API key, if you brought your own. It lives in your device’s secure keychain and is never sent to us. Uninstalling Caloroot removes it.
- Your subscription. Deleting your Caloroot account does not cancel a Play subscription. Cancel that separately in the Google Play Store under Payments and subscriptions, or you will keep being billed.
Uninstalling is not the same as deleting. Removing the app clears the copy of your data held on that device, but the copy on our servers stays until you make the request above.
